About Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its exceptional biodiversity and as the sanctuary for endangered mountain gorillas. This ancient rainforest, dating back over 25,000 years, harbors an incredible array of wildlife including over 400 species of plants, 200 species of trees, 350 bird species, and 200 butterfly species. The park's mist-covered hills and dense forest canopy create a mystical atmosphere that has earned it the nickname 'Place of Darkness' from local communities.
